Support For Parents

ELSA

An ELSA is a member of staff who is trained to support learners in the development of their emotional literacy and other skills.

ELSA intervention typically consist of weekly sessions of planned intervention (typically around 6-12 weeks). 

ELSA can help with a range of areas, some of which being;

  • Self-esteem
  • Friendships
  • Anxiety
  • Emotional regulation
  • Social Skills
  • Loss and bereavement

Family Liaison Officer

As Family Liaison Officer (FLO) my role is to offer advice and support for all aspects of school and family life, and to signpost to more specific and targeted services in the local community. 

This may include:  

  • Challenging behaviour 

  • Attendance: Advice on getting your child to school and on time 

  • Building family relationships 

  • Information on other services and how to make use of them 

  • Support completing forms, e.g. DLA, PIP 

  • Listening to family concerns and feeding back to relevant staff 

  • Information on community events e.g. play schemes etc. 

  • Accessing foodbanks 

  • Identifying and addressing other needs
